1 Hampshire lost to winners Leicestershire on 2nd July 1975 by 5 wickets at Grace Road.
2 Gordon Greenidge made 111, while Chris Balderstone saw that year's County Champions home with 101*.
3 Paul Terry made 109 at Chelmsford against Essex on the 8th June 1988 in the Benson and Hedges Cup. Having lost six previous semi-finals, Hampshire finally made it through to a first Lord's Final that day.

The exact year of this photo is unknown, though, according to a Portsmouth Evening News report in 1975. It was some time in the late 1920's and is believed to be a rugby game between US Portsmouth and Oxford University at Burnaby Road.

February 2025 HCH Photo Quiz
In 1976 Hampshire began issuing programmes for John Player League Home games on Sundays.
This is the cover of one of those programmes - which included a scorecard in the middle - for the Hampshire v Surrey game at Portsmouth in 1983. It was a game which featured a record breaking unbroken second wicket partnership of 269 between Trevor Jesty 166* and Gordon Greenidge 108*. It was also Trevor Jesty's Benefit Match. January 2025 HCH Photo Quiz
Hampshire's best ever bowling figures in a single first-class innings is Bob Cottam's 9-25 in this game between Lancashire and Hampshire at Old Trafford. Lancashire were dismissed in that first innings for 136. Hampshire won a very tense and low-scoring game by 13 runs.
