150 Years Ago

At the Racecourse Ground in Derby, Hampshire played Derbyshire for the first time on Monday 5th June 1876. Hampshire’s match against Derbyshire at the Antelope Ground, which finished on 25th July 1876 with a one wicket victory, was also truly remarkable. Despite taking 17-103, Derbyshire left-arm seamer William Mycroft finished on the losing side. It remains in the record books as the best match analysis against Hampshire 150 years later!
